Terms of Service & End-User License Agreement (EULA)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Verba mobile application or website at https://meetverba.com (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Verba ("The Social Flight Simulator") is an interactive communication and social-skills training application. The Service provides structured micro-lessons, a 3-Act Voice & Chat Arena with AI-powered conversational roleplay across three tracks (Dating & Attraction, Social & Charisma, and Workplace Assertiveness), real-time coaching debriefs, habit streak tracking, and a personal Phrase Vault.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use Verba. Accounts are authenticated via Supabase Auth using Email & Password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In. You may also optionally set a display name and upload a profile photo (stored in our Supabase Storage profile-photos bucket). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities conducted through your account.

4. In-App Subscriptions, Billing, Free Trials, and Cancellation (Verba Pro)

Verba offers a free tier alongside paid upgrades known as Verba Pro, available in the following options:

  • Verba Pro Monthly: Auto-renewable monthly subscription.
  • Verba Pro Yearly: Auto-renewable annual subscription (which may include a promotional free trial period where indicated on the paywall).
  • Verba Pro Lifetime: One-time non-consumable purchase granting lifetime access to Verba Pro features.

Billing & Subscription Management (Apple App Store, Google Play Store & RevenueCat):

  • Payment Processing: All purchases and subscriptions are processed and billed directly by your platform provider — Apple Inc. (via the App Store) or Google LLC (via Google Play Store) — and entitlement status is managed via RevenueCat. The exact price in your local currency is displayed in the app prior to purchase confirmation.
  • Auto-Renewal: Monthly and Yearly Verba Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID or Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • Free Trials: If a free trial is offered and you start a trial subscription, it will automatically convert into a paid auto-renewing subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial expires. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.
  • How to Cancel: You can manage or cancel your auto-renewable subscription at any time in your device's store settings (on iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions; on Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Deleting your Verba account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel an active store subscription.
  • Refunds: Because payments are processed directly by Apple or Google, we cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests are subject to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

5. AI Roleplay, Voice Processing, and Coaching Disclaimers

Verba uses server-side artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI text, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech models) to simulate fictional characters (such as Sofia, Leo, and Victor) and generate automated coaching feedback. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Educational & Practice Use Only: All scenarios, AI character responses, scores, and coaching debriefs are generated for educational, self-improvement, and entertainment purposes only.
  • Not Professional Advice: Verba is not a substitute for licensed psychotherapy, psychological counseling, medical advice, human-resources representation, or legal advice. If you are experiencing mental health distress, please consult a qualified professional.
  • AI Limitations: AI-generated responses are probabilistic and may occasionally produce inaccurate, unexpected, or imperfect phrasing. You are solely responsible for how you choose to apply communication techniques in real-world situations.
  • Strict Processing Scope: As detailed in our Privacy Policy, your voice audio and transcripts are processed strictly to deliver the simulation and coaching debrief.

6. Push Notifications and Habit Reminders

You may optionally enable push notifications so Verba can send daily habit reminders and streak protection alerts via the Expo Push Service (using tokens stored in our devices table). You can disable notifications at any time within your in-app Profile settings or your device's operating system settings.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Verba responsibly and lawfully. When using the Service, you must not:

  • Use the AI roleplay or voice arena to generate illegal, abusive, defamatory, non-consensual, or harmful content, or to harass or threaten others.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, subscription gates, authentication controls, or security mechanisms.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract our curriculum, prompts, character configurations, or backend APIs.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or unauthorized third-party clients to interact with the Service.

8. User Content and License

You retain ownership of the text inputs, voice audio, and profile photos you submit to Verba ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Verba a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license solely to process, transmit, store, and display that content back to you in order to operate the Service (including server-side AI transcription, roleplay generation, and coaching feedback). When you delete your account, your User Content is permanently deleted from our systems.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to Verba — including its curriculum, 3-Act simulation architecture, character personas, visual design, audio assets, trademarks, and software code — are owned by Verba and its licensors. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Verba app on devices you own or control.

10. Account Termination and Data Deletion

You may stop using Verba and permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

  • Instantaneously In-App: Go to Profile → Delete Account inside the Verba mobile app to immediately erase your account, profile photo, push tokens, simulation history, and saved phrases.
  • Via the Web: Visit https://meetverba.com/data-deletion or email support@meetverba.com to request complete account and data deletion.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL GUARANTEE SPECIFIC SOCIAL, ROMANTIC, OR PROFESSIONAL OUTCOMES.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VERBA OR ITS CREATORS, AFFILIATES, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, OR PROFITS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR VERBA PRO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50.00).

13. Apple App Store & Google Play Store Additional Terms

If you download Verba from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and Verba only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the app, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you in the app of any material changes. Your continued use of Verba after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
